RATES AND INSURANCE

We Accept Most Major Insurance Plans

Health Alliance, Blue Cross Blue Shield, United, Student Insurance, and more!

Payments Accepted

Insight Therapy will check your mental health benefits for free so that you come to your appointment knowing exactly what your insurance provider will cover.  Most insurance companies cover most of an individual therapy session, couples counseling session, and family therapy sessions, with the client owing a small copay or co-insurance.  Occasionally, there is a deductible to be met.   Find out what your mental health benefits are by filling out the form below and we will get back to you as quickly as possible with your benefit information.

All payments are due at the time of service.  This includes self-pay clients, copays, and co-insurance, if applicable.  We accept check, cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and Health Savings Accounts.

Want to Know What Therapy Will Cost You?

How Insurance Works with Therapy

WE ARE HERE TO HELP
Understanding insurance can be a bit tricky.  We will check your coverage for you at no cost and advise of your coverage so you know what to expect before starting therapy.  We hope the information below helps you to understand the lingo associated with your insurance coverage so that you know what to expect to pay at each appointment.  If you have any questions regarding your coverage, we are happy to help you.

BENEFIT YEAR
This is a twelve-month period in which your insurance provides you with benefits.  Your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum resets at the beginning of each benefit year.  Many plans operate on a calendar year.  An exception to this is Student Resources, the University of Illinois student insurance.  Under this plan, benefits reset at the beginning of each semester.

COINSURANCE vs COPAY
Most insurance plans have either a coinsurance or a copay.

Coinsurance:
This is the percentage of the insurance company’s allowed amount you pay once the deductible is met. You pay the coinsurance, then your insurance pays the rest of the bill.
Copay: This is a fixed amount you pay for a service, then your insurance will pay the rest of the bill.

DEDUCTIBLE
This is the amount you must pay before your insurance will begin to cover your services.  The deductible varies by insurance company, as well as by plan within the insurance company.  If you have a family plan, it is likely there is an individual deductible as well as a family deductible.  One of these must be met before insurance will provide any coverage.  Not all insurance plans have a deductible.

OUT-OF-POCKET MAXIMUM
This is the most you will spend on services each year, and includes your deductible, copay, and/or coinsurance.  Once you have met your out-of-pocket maximum, your insurance will cover your services 100%.  The out-of-pocket maximum will vary by insurance plan.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
  • Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
  • Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
